Isaiah 32

“My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings …” (v18). From the beginning, God’s plan was for humanity to live peacefully in His beautiful world, with Him and under His rule. Human sin brought frustration, conflict, and pain (v6-7), but God stayed faithful to His purpose. Isaiah prophesied that no matter how bad things became, at the right time, when “the Spirit is poured upon us from on high” (v15), new life would begin amid the ruins (v20).

“The true King will reign in righteousness” (v1). Even though the effects of the curse remain, we can live today under the reign of the true King. He is alive, and new life has already begun.
