Isaiah 25

"Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us” (v9). Isaiah trusted that what God was doing in and through Israel was preparing the world for His great salvation. The promise wasn’t just for Jacob’s descendants, but for everyone waiting for the Savior: “And he will swallow up on this mountain the covering that is cast over all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations” (v7). Isaiah knew that God’s grace through the coming Messiah was for “all nations.”

“He will swallow up death forever … (v8). Jesus swallowed up death so that we can experience life, now and forever. He will return to “wipe away tears from all faces” (v8).
