Galatians 1:1-9
/“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age …” (v3-4). Paul’s letter to the Galatians was written to correct them; they were beginning to believe “a different gospel,” something distorted and dangerous (v6-7). Paul was so concerned for them that he asked God to judge the false preachers spreading lies: “let him be accursed” (v8). Paul was passionate about preserving the good news of Jesus, “who gave himself for our sins.”
Jesus came “to deliver us from the present evil age” (v4), and there is no other deliverance. He alone can save us, cleanse us, and make us holy.
