Psalm 62
/“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him” (v5). David the psalmist faced many temptations on his road to becoming king. He chose to wait for the Lord’s help – waiting in silence, waiting patiently - rather than seizing power on his own. He believed that with God, no matter how strong the pressure against him, he “would not be greatly shaken” (v6). His hope was not in wealth, manipulation, or status; instead, “on God rests my salvation and my glory” (v9-10).
Our faith rests on the truth “that power belongs to God and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love” (v12). Because He loves us and is strong, we won’t be shaken
