I Chronicles 15-19

“When you were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it …” (16:19-21). When the ark was safely in Jerusalem, King David initiated a great celebration to the Lord.  He directed the people to sing about God’s salvation, His “wondrous deeds,” and especially His undeserved kindness to Abraham’s descendants.  The Israelites were “of little account”, yet God poured out blessings, protected them, and gave them Canaan. As long as they remained humble, the Lord was with them.

“Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?” (17:16).  We rejoice because even though we are “of little account,” the God of mercy knows our names and loves us.
