Hosea 3-4
/“There is no faithfulness or steadfast love, and no knowledge of God in the land; there is swearing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed” (4:1-2). This terrible situation in Israel was going to provoke the wrath of God, but He would not totally abandon His people. The imagery of marriage displayed God’s extravagant love; “the LORD loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods” (3:1). He still had a plan to bring salvation.
“They shall come in fear to the Lord and to his goodness in the latter days” (3:5). In love, God seeks us, provides for our salvation, and anticipates our repentance.
