Zechariah 10
/“Ask rain from the LORD in the season of the spring rain ... and he will give them showers of rain” (1). The Lord was angry with the “shepherds” and “leaders” of Israel (3) because they did not guide the people to ask for help and provision from the Lord. Instead, they encouraged the people to take their needs to gods who offered “false dreams” and “empty consolation” (2), leaving them wandering and helpless. But Zechariah prophesied hope and redemption for Israel and the nations (6-12).
God has compassion on those lost and wounded by sin. Through Christ He has made a way to “bring them home” (10), because He is the good shepherd who goes after His lost sheep.
