II Corinthians 5:1-10
/“For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens” (v1). As believers, we know that death is not the end of life. God’s Spirit in our hearts prepares us and gives us a foretaste of resurrection (v5). Our eternal future is not a ghostly, disembodied existence, nor a loss, but an upgrade. Paul says, “not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life” (v4).
Knowing that Jesus is the giver of life now and forever, “we make it our aim to please him” (v9).
