II Corinthians 12
/“For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (v10). Paul continued to argue that genuine Christian leadership wasn’t puffed-up and self-congratulatory like worldly leadership, but humbly dependent on Jesus and willing to sacrifice. Paul admitted that God had given him amazing heavenly visions; however, “to keep me from becoming conceited,” God had also given him some kind of “a thorn in the flesh” (v7).
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (v9). In our struggles, sorrows, and limitations, we experience the grace and power of Jesus.
