Colossians 1
/“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (v13). Paul said that we were originally created for Jesus’ kingdom (v16), yet we turned our backs on it. But Jesus gave his own blood to reconcile us back to God (v20-22). Despite our rebellion and whatever our background, we were rescued from the “domain of darkness” and transferred to the kingdom of light.
“Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord ... bearing fruit in every good work” (v10). Since we have the privilege of belonging to the kingdom of light, our words and deeds should reflect our citizenship.
