Hebrews 13

“For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come” (v14). Hebrews tells us how to live according to the values of the “city that is to come,” even though doing so may bring reproach, mistreatment, or misunderstanding in this life (v13), as Jesus experienced. We “show hospitality,” honor marriage and purity, stand with those who are in prison, and keep ourselves “free from the love of money” (v5), being content with what we have. Living this way brings credibility to the gospel.

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God” (v16). Our daily choices reveal our hope in God’s coming kingdom.
