Ezekiel 13-16
/“Thus says the Lord GOD, Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!” (13:3). God promised that judgment was coming on Jerusalem for the failures of her leaders, especially the prophets. Instead of preaching truth and repentance, they promised a false peace and “painted over” the idolatry and rebellion of God’s people (ch 14). Ezekiel, in opposition to the false prophets, revealed the sins of Israel and Judah and called them back from their rebellion (ch 16).
Rather than “whitewash” failures and rebellion (13:10-14), God invites us to expose the foundations of our lives so that He can forgive, heal, and rebuild us.
