Genesis 38-40
/“How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” (39:9). Within the big story of Abraham’s family, Joseph’s life stands out. Given dreams that hinted at a great future (just like his ancestors) but then kidnapped and thrown into prison, Joseph resolutely chose God’s path. In the face of his brothers’ betrayal and unjust accusations, Joseph did not take revenge or run away; he resisted temptation, acted honorably, and remained loyal to God, whether in the palace or in prison.
“The Lord was with Joseph” (39:2). God being with us means we bear His name; in success or trouble, we are His people, and He wants to be known through us.
