Joshua 14-19
/“Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day ... the Lord helping me, I will drive them out [the Anakites] just as he said” (14:12). Caleb, 45 years after “spying out the land,” asked for another portion and still had faith the Lord would help him occupy it. His daughter Aksah had the same bold spirit (15:19), confidently asking for springs of water in addition to land. Because God’s command to fill the land was clear (Joshua 1), faith meant moving forward through every obstacle.
God wants us to lean on his promises confidently and boldly, “wholeheartedly” (14:8-9), like Caleb. Our faith is in his power, goodness, and lovingkindness, not our own strength.
