Acts 20-22

Paul’s farewell to the Christian leaders in Ephesus was difficult for him and them (20:17-32). He knew what they were facing, and as a good shepherd, he wanted to prepare them. “Be on guard for yourselves” (v28)... “Be alert” (v31). He warned them of savage wolves who would come in to destroy, and perverse teachers who would rise up from within. But there was a source of confidence. “I commend you to God and to the word of His grace which is able to build you up...” (V32).

“Be on guard... Be alert.” Good words for leaders of churches, families and nations.
