Colossians 4
/“And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains” (3). Paul’s concern was not his own release, but proclaiming Jesus. He urged believers to make the most of “every opportunity,” including hardship. The growing church challenged the world both with its message and its character: Onesimus, former slave (9), Luke the doctor (14), and Nympha the female church leader (15) were one family in Christ.
“Let your conversation always be full of grace, seasoned with salt ...” (6). Our world needs the hope of the gospel. When our conversations and behaviors are grace-filled, well-seasoned with truth, Jesus is lifted up.
