Luke 12

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life ... but seek his kingdom” (22- 31). Jesus pointed to the roots of our worries and fears and how they lead us astray, keeping us from contentment and courageous purpose. When we focus on what we lack (6, 22-30), what people think of us (8), or “abundance of possessions” (15), we miss out on trusting and serving the Lord. Rather than constant striving or shallow pursuits, Jesus gives us real peace, restored relationships, and participation in his mission.

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (32). The abundant life God desires for us is far better than anything we imagine.
