Psalm 115

“You who fear him, trust in the Lord—he is their help and shield” (11). The living God wants to bless those who actively trust and lean on Him. The psalmist warned that idols of silver and gold, made by human hands, can do nothing to help anyone (5). Worse, “those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them” (8). Whatever we trust and worship, whatever we give our hearts to, shapes who we are.

“May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” (15). When we trust in Jesus and worship Him, God promises to pour out “every spiritual blessing” and shape us into Christ’s image (Ephesians 1).
