Proverbs 23-31

“Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you” (24:14). The proverbs describe following God’s ways – the way of wisdom – as “honey” and “treasure,” worth far more than everything the world tells us to desire. “Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone” (23:5), the proverbs remind us. Those who “chase fantasies” end up with nothing (29:19), but those who take life and God seriously will have what they need.

The wise woman of Proverbs 31 demonstrates this life: she “sets about her work vigorously ... she is clothed with strength and dignity” (31:17,25). A God- honoring life abounds in purpose and overflows with blessing for others (31:20).
