I Thessalonians 5

“May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (23). Paul addressed those in Thessalonica who were worried about “the day of the Lord”: the promised return of King Jesus, when all evil will be judged and everything set right (2,9). Paul told them not to worry about “times and dates” nor about their own destiny (1). Because Jesus died for us (10), by faith in Him we are blameless “children of light”, forgiven, with nothing to fear on that day (5).

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances” (16-18). Secure in Christ’s love, free from the fear of judgment, we have power to live for Him whole-heartedly today.
