Titus 3

“Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate ...” (1-2). Paul reminded believers that their behavior should be rooted in their identity. They had been saved by God’s mercy, not their own efforts, cleansed, given the Spirit, and made heirs of eternal life (4-7). As God’s own people, their focus should be on serving Him and blessing others, not “foolish controversies” and divisions (9-10).

“But when the kindness and love of God appeared, He saved us ...” (4-5). God calls us to live in response to His kindness, imitating His character, rather than following the world.
