Revelation 3-5
/“Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne ...” (5:6). The only one worthy to open the sacred scroll was the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Messiah. He appeared as a Lamb which “had been slain” and yet was “standing”. The spectacular living creatures, the elders, and thousands of angels sang praise to the Lamb, who showed the churches how to be victorious over evil: by courageous, self-giving love (3:12,21).
“I know your deeds ... I know that you have little strength” (3:8). The Lamb has already overcome evil, and he stands with us in our weakness, helping us overcome too.
