Exodus 8-10

Exodus 8-10 describes the growing hardness of an emperor’s rebellion, and the increasing intensity of God’s response that is moving from corrective to punitive. The land was fouled with the plague of frogs, the people tormented with the plague of insects. All the cattle died (9:3), the people were covered with boils. Hail destroyed any growth above ground. And then the locusts, 10:1, and before the final plague, the plague of darkness, 10:21. But a hardened heart does not listen.

There is a moral darkness that has come over our nation and many others. One wonders what is next. God delivered his people from the plagues and ultimately through them. If we listen, we have nothing to fear.
