John 17

“I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them” (v26).  Jesus came into the world as God the Son in human flesh, showing us “God’s true name,” his real character as the One who loves us enough to die for us.  Jesus then sent his followers “into the world” (v18) to do the same thing: witness to the true character of our Savior.  

Jesus didn’t send us on this mission alone – his love and his spirit are in us (v21), joining us to the Father and empowering us, “so that the world may believe.”
