Acts 8:26-40
/“And there was an Ethiopian …he had come to Jerusalem to worship and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah” (v27-28). This important official from Ethiopia had already decided that Israel’s God was significant; he had traveled to Jerusalem “to worship” and was studying the Old Testament scriptures. God sent Philip to witness to this man at exactly the right moment, and he believed “the good news about Jesus” (v35).
Jesus “came into the world to save sinners,” (I Tim 1:15), and He is eager to be found by those, like the Ethiopian, who are seeking Him.
