I Kings 9-10

“Because the LORD loved Israel forever, he has made you king, that you may execute justice and righteousness” (10:9).  When the Queen of Sheba saw King Solomon’s wealth and wisdom, she declared that God loved Israel and blessed Solomon as king so that he could rule with justice and righteousness.  As long as Solomon kept his original, humble perspective (3:9-10), asking for God’s help to govern the people, God poured out gifts.

“This house will become a heap of ruins” (9:8).  God warned Solomon sinful rebellion would result in the twisting and crumbling of his good gifts. We are meant to use God’s blessings to serve his purposes.
