Psalm 65
/“O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come” (v2). The psalms proclaim that God is not just the local deity of a certain ethnic group, but instead he is the Creator, the “hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas” (v5). The creation reveals his glory, and “those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs” (v8). Israel was chosen to be a light for the nations so that God’s saving love could reach those farthest seas.
“You visit the earth and water it …” (v9). God made the earth and called it “good,” and he cares for everyone and everything in it.
