Acts 14
/“We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea” (v15). Paul and Barnabas referenced Israel’s story when they preached about Jesus in the Jewish synagogue (13:17). But when they spoke to this Gentile crowd, they found common ground by declaring that the Creator of the universe, the Giver of “gladness” (v17), was calling them to repentance and new life.
God does not leave Himself without witness (v17). He gave us salvation through One Man, Jesus, so that the “door of faith” would be open to all people everywhere (v27).
