Psalm 73

“But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled …. (v2).  Like many of us, the psalmist was frustrated and even envious when he saw that that arrogant people who lived only for themselves seemed to be prospering, while those who served God were suffering (v3-14).  Then the psalmist entered God’s presence and gained a new perspective (v16-17, 26).  Being “near God” (v26) calmed his soul, because the Creator of the world is also the wise Judge.  He has past, present, and future in His hands.    

The world’s injustice and our own failures can wear us down, but God’s compassion and perfect wisdom are more than sufficient.   Being with Him is our good (v26-28).
