Psalm 71
/“O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds” (v17). Over a lifetime, the psalmist learned that God’s grace is not just for a moment, but forever. We can’t exhaust God with our needs and our prayers. He is the rock of refuge to which we can “continually come,” (v3), over and over, because His compassion and power are infinite. When life seems to be a series of “troubles and calamities” (v20), we can depend on Him to revive us and comfort us (v21).
From youth to old age (v5-9), by experiencing God’s faithfulness, we learn to “hope continually” and praise him “more and more” (v14).
