Joshua 17-18
/“How long will you put off going in to take possession of the land, which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?” (18:3). Even after years of God’s provision in the desert and His mighty acts of deliverance, some tribes were reluctant to “take possession” of their portion of the Promised Land. God had proven that He was able to conquer their enemies, and the land “lay subdued before them” (18:1). Yet Joshua had to urge some to move forward.
Paul urged the Ephesians to “walk in a manner worthy of how you were called” (Eph 4:1). We have received a great salvation, and we “take possession” of it by walking in obedience and love.
