Deuteronomy 26-28

“And the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, … And he brought us into this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey” (26:8-9).  God’s mighty deliverance was just the beginning of the story; He took Israel out of Egypt in order to place them in a good land.  Just as they learned to trust Him in the desert, God wanted them to serve Him as they lived in the Promised Land (ch 28).

God calls us to Himself for a purpose.  We were redeemed so that we can live for God’s glory, fulfilling the “good works He prepared for us to do” (Eph 2:10).
