Psalm 81

“I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it” (v10).  Long before God ever gave the Law to Moses, He had already chosen Abraham, multiplied his descendants, and led them out of slavery.  Then, God gave His redeemed people the Law so that their lives would be peaceful and prosperous.  “I relieved your shoulder from the burden” (v6), God reminded his people, and yet “My people would not listen to My voice” (11).

“With honey from the rock I would satisfy you” (v16).  God calls us out of slavery, to faith and obedience, so that we find abundant life with Him.
