II Chronicles 3-5

“When the song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the LORD, "For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever," the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud …” (5:13).  The beautiful Temple could only fulfill its purpose by being a place of active worship.  When it was completed, it was consecrated by the gathering of all Israel, with sacrifices and singing.  As people sang about God’s steadfast love, “the glory of the Lord filled the house” (5:14).

“For His steadfast love endures forever” (5:13).  Israel’s purpose was to glorify God through obedience, worship, and sacrifice, so that the world would hear about His steadfast love.
