Daniel 4-6

“…the God in whose hand is your breath, and whose are all your ways, you have not honored” (5:23).  King Belshazzar threw a banquet and drank out of the cups from Jerusalem’s Temple, mocking the One God, though he knew the history of Nebuchadnezzar’s madness (ch 4).  His great power blinded him, and he “praised” the false gods of silver, gold, and wood, thinking he was completely in control. 

King Belshazzar was killed, and Daniel, without weapons or defense against the lions, survived, because “he had trusted in his God” (6:23).  Our best defense and strongest weapon is faith in the Creator who loves us.
