Psalm 85

“Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly” (v8).  Our relationship with God always begins with His initiative of love and forgiveness (v2-3).  The psalmist knew that God’s word to us, His desire for us, is peace, steadfast love and salvation (v7); that is why He calls us to turn away from folly or wickedness.  He calls us to Himself so that His “glory may dwell in our land” (v9).

God’s glory is the reflection of His wonderful character.  When He is among us and we are in fellowship with Him, goodness, peace, and love flourish (v10-13).
