Psalm 84

“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion” (v5).  The psalms and the New Testament tell us that Zion – Jerusalem – symbolizes our true home, because it is the place God chooses to dwell with His people (Heb 12:22).  When our hearts are full of “the paths to Zion,” our desires and goals are pointed toward God’s kingdom.  “Even the sparrow finds a home” in Zion (v3), in the Temple, in God’s presence.

Zion, fellowship with God, is a privilege and joy beyond anything else we can imagine.   “One day” with Him is better than a thousand days anywhere else (v10).
