Romans 3
/“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith” (v23-25). Paul explained that he and his fellow Jewish believers had a special, precious history of covenants and law, but just like Gentiles, they were sinners in need of salvation through Jesus (v9-10). Everyone is saved the same way – by faith – and therefore no one can boast (v27) of their own background or righteousness or superiority.
We are made right with God “by his grace as a gift.” His generous love reached out to us, Jew and Gentile, even before we knew we needed Him.
