Psalm 95

“For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand” (v7).  From the creation account in Genesis and onward, we see that God made us to live in close fellowship with Him.  Our “great King” made our beautiful world (v3-5) and us, creatures formed in His image.  Though we rebelled, He pursued us and forgave us.  However, if we “harden our hearts” and refuse to trust Him, as the Israelites did, we shut ourselves out of His kingdom (v11).

“Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!” (v1).  Today we have the opportunity to “hear His voice” (v7) and put our whole trust in Him.
