Psalm 98

“The LORD has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations” (v2).  God’s merciful, powerful acts on behalf Israel revealed His character to the world, and now, in Christ, the “ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God” (v3).  We sing a “new song” (v1) because He keeps showing His salvation; He never abandons our world.  We rejoice that He is coming to judge the earth (v9), because His judgments will set everything right.

“He has done marvelous things (v1).  We each have a song to sing or a story to tell of God’s “steadfast love and faithfulness” (v3).
