Psalm 106
/“Then they despised the pleasant land, having no faith in His promise” (v24). The psalmist remembered the various ways his ancestors had rejected God. Even though He miraculously brought them into the Promised Land, they “soon forgot his works” (v13). Instead of honoring God’s ways in the land He gave them, they “mixed with the nations and learned to do as they did” (v35). Their sins enslaved them, but God “heard their cry” (v44).
God is our Savior because of “the abundance of His steadfast love” (v45). He “gathers us from among the nations” so that we can live in holiness, freedom, and gratitude.
