Psalm 112
/“Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous” (v4). This psalm acknowledges that the righteous as well as the wicked live through dark times. However, the “upright” person (not perfect person) has rooted himself in the Lord’s ways, lived faithfully and generously with others (v5), and “his heart is firm … his heart is steady” (v7-8). When bad news arrives, the person who has nurtured a deep relationship with God receives it differently (v7), trusting God is with him.
“For the righteous will never be moved” (v6). We can bend in life’s storms, and not break, when our roots are deep in Christ.
