Psalm 119:1-120
/“Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors. My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word!” (v24-25). Before the coming of Jesus Christ, the Law of Moses was, along with the Creation, God’s self-revelation for His people. The psalmist meditated on this Word with his “whole heart” (v34), because in it God’s character and ways were expressed. The psalmist wasn’t trusting in religious rituals, but instead seeking God passionately, through His Word, in order to know Him better and live abundantly.
“I shall walk in a wide place” (v45). The principles in God’s Law reflect His goodness and love, and when we follow, we find true freedom in a “wide place.”
