Jeremiah 29-32

“But this is the covenant … I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (31:33).  As the people of Judah were facing exile in Babylon, God declared that He had “a future and a hope” for them. (29:11).  He would bring them back to Israel, but not just to restore the land; He planned to open up a new relationship with them and the whole world.

“For they all shall know me” (31:3). God used Israel’s failure not to crush them, but to bring them into a new relationship.  Where sin abounded, “grace abounded” more (Romans 5:20).
