Psalm 121
/“I lift up my eyes to the hills; from where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (v1). The psalmist saw that the “hills” – the earthly sources of strength and help – were limited, no real protection against evil. His only hope was in the Lord, Creator of the mountains. People get distracted, tired, and make mistakes, but our Creator “never slumbers nor sleeps” (v4). He is our shield against “all evil” (v7).
“He will not allow your foot to be moved … He will keep your life” (v1-7). No matter what trouble we face – “things present or things to come” – nothing can separate us from God’s love (Romans 8).
