Colossians 1

“Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ” (v29). The glorious mystery of “Christ in you” (v28) is not just for new Christians, according to Paul, but also the essential message that helps everyone grow into spiritual maturity.  Jesus is not simply a loving friend or emergency help; He is “the image of the invisible God.”  The same Person who walked on our earth and suffered on the cross is “before all things, and in him all things hold together” (v17).

Meditating on this truth, we then understand that “He is the head of the body, the church” (v18), and Lord of our lives.
