Jeremiah 36-37

“It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the disaster that I intend to do to them, so that every one may turn from his evil way, and that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin” (36:3).  Jeremiah was barred from the Temple, so he asked Baruch to take the scroll and read it there (36:16). Some people responded with fear and awe (v16), but when the king heard the prophecy, he cut up and burned the scroll (v23).  However, Jeremiah and Baruch simply made another scroll (36:32).

In every generation, because He loves us, God warns us of disaster and calls us to Himself: “that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin” (v3).
