Psalm 50
/“Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High” (v14). God is clear that he isn’t looking for mere religious activity from us, but rather worship done from the heart. A truly spiritual person is one whose gratefulness, the “offering of thanksgiving” for God’s saving grace, leads to moral transformation, a life “ordered rightly” (23).
We cannot confuse participation in Christian culture for authentic worship. Rather, true worship is a life of gratitude to God that moves us to obedience and righteousness. It is there we find real life – “the salvation of God” (23).
