Proverbs 3
/“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil” (v7). The proverbs teach us to reject the arrogance that leads us to justify our own actions; instead, as we humbly seek wisdom - following God’s ways – we will find abundant life. Wisdom, which is making choices that honor God, “is a tree of life to those who take hold of her” (v18). When we trust in God and turn away from sin, our paths become “straight” (v5-6).
“Let love and faithfulness never leave you … write them on the tablet of your heart” (v3). God calls us to heart-transformation so that we can enjoy the fruits of obedience.
