Exodus 2

“God saw the people of Israel--and God knew” (v25).  The succeeding generations of Israelites passed down the stories of how, even in their slavery, “God knew” and made a way for them to survive, working through individuals who honored Him.  The midwives, along with Moses’ parents and sister, risked their lives to save their children in a pagan land, and the result was a young man named Moses – both Hebrew and Egyptian, bold, hot-tempered, willing to fight battles on behalf of others (v12,13, 17).
“God heard their groaning” (v24).  Our Father in heaven is very aware of our distress.  As we trust and obey Him, He opens up surprising ways of rescue, help, and redemption.
